Travis Book & Friends: Intimate Casual Collaborations will be an ongoing series at 185 King Street. For this edition Travis will be joined by Blue Highway's Shawn Lane & regular collaborator Tommy Maher of Fireside Collective. Blue Highway has been a huge influence on Travis, particularly in his bluegrass discovery phase. Shawn Lane is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and singer with music simply pouring out of him, this should be a great night of music. Travis Book; bassist, songwriter, and vocalist in the Grammy Award winning bluegrass band, The Infamous Stringdusters loves to play music. With his touring, festivals, and large club shows on hold indefinitely, he started a live-streaming variety show called The Travis Book Happy Hour in the summer of 2020. As he started assembling the guests and writing the shows, he realized that he wanted to play more music than what the variety show format would allow. A resident of Brevard, he reached out to King St. about doing a residency where he and his guests (friends) could perform improvised, intimate shows the night prior to taping. It could be anyone coming down to sit-in on some tunes.

Blake Christiana and Rick Bugel are the founding members for the band, Yarn. That’s certainly no small accomplishment, especially for a band that spent two years honing their chops during a Monday night residency at the famed Kenny’s Castaway in New York’s Greenwich Village. In effect, it allowed them to rehearse onstage, mostly in front of audiences that often ranged in size from five to fifty people on any given Monday night.

Did they run away with the Circus? Are the 16 holes in Jonathan Grey's bass from a Thirty-Ought-Six? Did Hazel Ketchum carve her drum sticks from the bones of John Bonham? Did Bob Culver learn guitar from a 123 year-old medicine man in Botswana? These are questions we cannot answer. However, I can tell you this... They are the Harrows, and they will bring both the rock and the roll to 185 King Street
